Before I tell my story, I want to firstly thank those people that helped me change from an unemployed young man to a packaging trainee in the factory, and finally as a trainer. Meanwhile, my thanks are also given to my neighbors, and because of their help, I could have much more opportunities to keep in touch with the external world. Besides, I need to thank the social worker who brought the first job interview opportunity to me, my mother who always encouraged, protected and supported me, and the factory manager who gave me the first job. Now, I will share the factory manager’s words with all of you for mutual encouragement.
The factory manager ever asked me: “Do you know why I did not recruit you at first, but then changed my mind? If I did not recruit you and gave you a chance, perhaps you chance, perhaps you would never get a job in your life.” She continued: “For all my employees, you are not the most effective, the smartest and the most well-informed one, but you are the most diligent employee. Therefore, I want to recommend you as the company’s trainer after its transformation.”
“I am afraid that I am not competent enough.”
“Hey, you need remember that the most important is your sincere heart rather than the capability.
Of course, there are many talented people in this world, but they may not be passionate and hard-working enough; compared with you, they are liable to miss these opportunities although they have much more opportunities, and you know how to firmly seize every opportunity.”
Her words deeply impress me. Now, I will always recall her words as my motto to instruct and encourage me to be a better man.
